Tolerating Uncertainty - Cultures of Care

Nick Wilson, Professor of Culture & Creativity, King's College London will be hosting the event Tolerating Uncertainty - Cultures of Care and invites Circle U. colleagues to join.

King’s College invites you to the digital event, via Teams, on Friday 21st January. The subject is “Tolerating Uncertainty”, and the talks will explore uncertainty in and across a variety of contexts, including the works of Shakespeare; intolerance of uncertainty (UNcertainty In COronavirus Research Network); models of uncertainty in cybersecurity; narrative vs. evidence - an extension of Walter Fisher's narrative paradigm to analyse epistemic controversies related to the Covid-19 pandemic; and the place and role of uncertainty in the training and education of (clinical) students today.
 
There are speakers from two Circle U. partners:

  • From King’s College: Lorenzo Zucca, Professor of Law and Philosophy, Luca Vigano, Professor and Head of the Cybersecurity Group of the Department of Informatics, and Flora Smyth Zahra, Clinical Senior Lecturer Interdisciplinarity & Innovation Dental Education.
  • From the University of Oslo: Eivind Engebretsen, Circle U. Chair Global Health, Vice-Dean, Faculty of Medicine, and Professor Mona Baker – Centre for Sustainable Healthcare Education (SHE).
