– We welcome all our friends and colleagues from the Circle U. community to Oslo, and to our conference "European values in times of upheaval - our political, institutional and economic order under pressure”, says Vice-Rector for Education, professor Bjørn Stensaker.

Award ceremony

– We live in turbulent times, on a continent where our values are under pressure. The conference will shed light on academic freedom, quality assurance and implications of the war in Ukraine, with a mixture of keynotes, plenary debate and key lectures.

– We thank our colleagues in the Democracy Hub for their valuable contribution to the programme on day two. The National Conference is coordinated with the events taking place in Oslo Peace Days, and the first day of the conference ends with the award ceremony for the University of Oslo’s Human Right Award to Hungarian historian and professor of gender studies at Central European University, Andrea Petö. Petö will also take part in the conference, concludes Stensaker.
