One programme – two tracks
The educational innovators track
In this track, student teams will observe the learning and innovation process, evaluate it, provide a comprehensive analysis of the pedagogical environment – and will be able to co-design new ways of learning innovation and topics for the 2023 edition – as well as participate in co-publishing a paper on the programme.

The global health innovators track
In this track, student teams will tackle real-life challenges faced by our healthcare systems such as: equal access to healthcare, global governance, global epidemics and pandemics, eco-responsibility, burnout in hospitals etc.

The 2022 programme consists of the following steps
First, key face-to-face events!
3–4 October: Two-day hackathon in Paris
The hackathon is organised in Paris and will:
- build the international teams for the rest of the programme at a face-to-face event
- create an accelerated experience of an innovation process through the Design Thinking approach (based on the 2021 pilot)
- at the end of which student teams will have come up with a solution/project that tackles a real-life global health related issue
2–4 November: One-week-long "International Test Lab"
The lab is organised simultaneously in all participating partner universities. In this test setup, student teams will be able to meet an international panel of experts, test their solution with end users and adjust it according to the feedback they receive through this process.
9 December: A Demo Day in Louvain
This is a closing day in Louvain-la-Neuve (near Brussels) presenting:
- the results of each team (pitch your solution!)
- feedback from an international panel of experts
the analysis and suggestions for new learning contents and methodologies co-developed by students and educational leaders.
Secondly, local resources
Each of the above activities is accompanied by facilitation/coaching sessions based on the "Learning by doing" approach to get students to "do" innovation through testing, rapid prototyping and communication (local coaching).
