The three domains present in our acronym (.mil) are both research fields and key competencies (e.g. multilingualism is identified as one of the eight key competencies for lifelong learning and as a key driver for inclusion at all levels in society). We offer formal and informal learning opportunities aiming to drive the research fields forward, develop multilingual and intercultural competences, enhance knowledge, understanding and attitudes in those areas for all students and staff at Circle U. universities.
Our projects, courses, and other learning experiences will help sustain research efforts in the areas covered by our lab, diversify the opportunities to learn and practice other languages, including lesser spoken languages, and experience different cultures through mobility and/or internationalization at home.
We are co-designing new and innovative materials, learning activities and research initiatives, as well as expanding and sharing existing ones. We aim to involve the teaching and research communities of our universities in these endeavors.
