The Circle U. Teaching and Innovation Lab (CU.til) showcased at Pedagogical Initiatives Day in Paris

Held at Université Paris Cité on November 30, 2023, the second edition of the Pedagogical Initiatives Day, (La Journée des Initiatives Pédagogiques (u-paris.fr)) focused on the diversity of innovative formal and informal learning spaces.

It was a unique opportunity for Circle U. partners, King’s College, Humboldt, and UCLouvain to share their experiences and best practices at their universities. The new Teaching and Innovation Lab “CU.til” led by UCLouvain in this new phase, was presented by Céline Mathelart.

A collaborative learning platform

Notably building on the work undertaken by the Think and Do Tank led by Université Paris Cité in the first phase, the CU.til aims to connect teaching and learning support units across our universities by developing research based activities. By boosting innovative teaching and learning formats, it will focus on interdisciplinary knowledge by fostering societal engagement.

Implementing key objectives

The CU.til group members are getting started and currently focusing on several key objectives.  They are in the process of being finetuned and some might crop up over time. However, for now, they include developing a network with existing centers and language labs/spaces sharing and creating existing resources and expanding current events. The group aims to create flagship collaborative courses or workshops centered around “CU signature pedagogies”, such as problem based learning, challenge based learning, social engagement, service-learning. Last but not least, the CU.til aims to develop a network in pedagocial research. Stay tuned for more information from CU.til to come over the coming months.
