Global Health Pedagogy

During the seminar, the Hub showcased at its final workshop, the seed-funding project called "Global Health Pedagogy – Opportunities and Innovations". Findings and discussions from the workshops were presented.  It was a unique opportunity to focus on key themes notably interdisciplinarity, core competencies and south-north partnership in global health educational programmes. The session provided an excellent forum for planning the dissemination of the project results.

Building a Dissemination Strategy

The hub sought out to plan its dissemination strategy for the Berlin Common Statements entitled "Global Health Education in European Universities - Recommendations for Future Actions". The Common Statement is comprised of the following goals:

  • Advancing knowledge and competencies across all relevant disciplines regardless of academic stage
  • Decolonising global health
  • Developing new structural horizons which combine teaching and research

Going forward, the Global Health Hub aims to write a scientific publication based on the statement as well as advocate its vision to relevant institutions across Europe and beyond.

"Getting together at the seminar gave us a great opportunity to share our experiences and explore the future shape of the hub and how to move forward. We also had some very fruitful discussions on how we can engage in further interdisciplinary collaborations across our institutions in the next phase – in terms of both research and education," said Christian Morberg Wejse, Professor of Global Health, Department of Clinical Medicine at the Faculty of Health/Aarhus University Hospital.
