Prof. Marjan Asgari’s research into Communities of Practice (CoP) highlights their potential to foster shared identity, peer learning, and innovation around a collective interest. Her work emphasizes the critical role of regenerative leadership and teachers’ agency in navigating digital transformation and addressing the pressing challenges of contemporary language teaching.

In her research, Prof. Marjan Asgari explores key questions: How can CoP adapt to a rapidly evolving digital landscape? How can innovation, sustainability, and regeneration be encouraged in digitalized foreign language teaching? She proposes practical tools from project management—such as appreciative inquiry and risk management—that enable CoP to maintain their positive core and create a meaningful "handprint" in their field. Additionally, she incorporates linguistic tools to support CoP in conducting their own action research.

This Open Conversation invites Prof. Marjan Asgari to present her findings and engage in a discussion about empowering CoP to respond effectively to digital transformation while fostering sustainable innovation in language teaching. Two students working on projects in the field of language teaching research will participate in the open conversation as panelists.
