Course description

The Summer School provides a dynamic platform for dialogue and collaboration between academics and students, delving into a wide range of topics. Participants will explore pressing issues such as the current challenging geopolitical context of global health, health inequalities across local and global levels, health prevention programmes implementation, the challenges faced by vulnerable populations, gender dynamics, NGOs perspectives, and the evolution from colonial medicine to the concept of planetary health. We will also introduce discussions on cutting-edge advances, including artificial intelligence and innovative technologies that are shaping the future of global health. All these questions will be addressed with interdisciplinary perspectives.

The summer school will include:

  •   1 online sessions before and after the Summer School: the first will introduce the Knowledge Hub, the participants and the learning objectives of the Summer School. The second one will revolve around a critical discussion on a specific topic.
  • Onsite courses from the 6th to the 11th of July in Paris: the students will be expected to actively participate in group discussions, moderated posters presentation and share their approach on global health during the seminars planned over the week.

Six reasons to apply

  • Improve your understanding of how your research interacts with global health issues
  • Understand the importance of contextualizing global health
  • Develop critical thinking skills in global health
  • Enhance teamwork and interpersonal skills
  • Connect with leading professors, clinicians, NGOs and build networks with European peers
  • Engage with a team of interdisciplinary scholars from around the world

My favorite part was to exchange on so many disciplines and with colleagues from all over Europe or even other countries. This interdisciplinary point of view is very unique and important, especially in the field of Global Health.
