Diversity in the Making

Diversity, gender equality and inclusion in research-communities: How universities can work towards a more inclusive culture.

Societies today are facing several major challenges: climate change, economic instability, social inequality, and threats to democracy. Each challenge affects us in a multitude of ways, reflecting the diversity of our world.

Universities have an obligation to provide solutions - through our research, education and innovation. But we can only succeed in this task if we ourselves are able to use diversity as a strength. By including different perspectives - from people with different genders, sexual orientations, racial and ethnic identities, ages, beliefs, and cultural and social backgrounds - we can strengthen our impact on society.

At this conference, we invite you to learn from engaging keynote speakers from various sectors (the private sector, the cultural sector and academia), to share insights, experiences and ambitions. It will take a sustained, concerted effort to achieve a diverse, equal and inclusive culture at our universities, and we hope you will take this opportunity to find inspiration for your next steps in this crucial mission.
