On April 21st 2023, at the Faculty of Medicine, academics from Circle U. universities and the USA will talk about the prevention of cardiovascular and malignant diseases, about the Covid19 pandemic, health literacy and much more. Participants will be able to join the discussion through interactive software. Live streaming will also be available.
Our lecturers are:
- Professor Jean-Philippe Empana (INSERM Research director, Université Paris Cité)
Professor Empana is Circle U. Chair on Global Health and also the co-team leader of a research team dedicated to the epidemiology of Cardiovascular Disease (CVD) in Paris. Professor Empana will introduce our audience to novel strategies for CVD prevention. - Dr Virginia Casigliani (Resident in Public health, University of Pisa)
Dr Casigliani works at the Department of Hygiene and Preventive Medicine. She will introduce us to the survey results on Vaccine hesitancy (VH), an issue that is a global concern. - Professor Bojana Matejic (Professor, University of Belgrade)
Professor Matejic will have the presentation "Older people during COVID-19 - the risk of social exclusion". - Josephine Aikpitanyi (PhD student, Université catholique de Louvain)
Her presentation will discuss the challenges of maternal and child health in low resource settings. - Professor Brett Nelson (Associate professor, Harvard Medical School - Division for Global Health)
Professor Nelson will talk about various challenges and his experience in international health collaboration. - Miljan Rancic (World Health Organization, Office in Belgrade)
As the national professional officer for health emergency preparedness and international health regulation, Miljan Rancic will focus on that specific issue.
The moderator of the lecture is Prof. Vesna Bjegovic-Mikanovic.

On-site: Main building of the Faculty of Medicine (Address: Dr Subotića starijeg 8, Second floor)
Online: the event will be live streamed on the University of Belgrade YouTube channel. You will be able to ask questions using the SLIDO tool. Instruction to join the SLIDO event will be available once you join the livestream. There is no need to register for the event.
