The whole Circle U. community wishes to express its deepest gratitude for his outstanding leadership, unwavering support, and dedication to the success of our alliance.
Prof. Blondel has been a driving force behind the growth and achievements of our alliance, ever since the very first discussions, back in 2018, leading to its inception. At the helm of our alliance since November 2022, it was under his leadership that Circle U. transitioned from its pilot phase to its full development.
As we bid him farewell, we are pleased to announce that Prof. Svein Stølen, Rector of the University of Oslo, will assume the role of Interim President. Prof. Stølen, who was the previous – and first – President of Circle U., will lead our alliance during this transitional period until a new President is elected at the next General Assembly in May 2024 in Brussels.
The Circle U. President is the highest representative of the alliance. The President chairs the General Assembly, which is the decision body where rectors, presidents and students make decisions on the strategic development of the alliance.
