The session opened with a welcome address by Eivind Engebretsen, Dean of the Circle U. Open Campus. His remarks set the scene for a programme focused on connecting students across Circle U. and making the opportunities offered by the Alliance more visible and accessible to its student community.
The initiative brought together student ambassadors from all nine Circle U. universities with a shared goal: to introduce their universities to fellow students and highlight the opportunities available through the Circle U. European University Alliance. Student representatives offered personal insights into student life, campus culture and the experience of studying at their institutions.
Preparing ambassadors to share their university experiences
An important part of the preparations was an online training session on how to pitch effectively in three minutes. The training supported the ambassadors in developing concise and engaging presentations of their universities, while also strengthening their presentation and communication skills more broadly.
Exploring student life and mobility opportunities
Through their short presentations, the ambassadors introduced distinctive aspects of their universities, from campus and student life to extracurricular activities and international opportunities. They also helped participants discover opportunities available through the Circle U. Open Campus, including summer schools, mobility and other possibilities for studying abroad.
Following the presentations, participants could choose between two breakout rooms. In the Student Room, they could speak directly with student ambassadors about student life, mobility experiences and practical tips. In the Administrative Staff Room, mobility officers from Circle U. universities answered questions about the practical and administrative aspects of studying abroad.
The discussion in the Administrative Staff Room focused particularly on mobility opportunities, application procedures, eligibility and selection criteria, Erasmus+ funding, and academic opportunities such as courses and summer schools. Students also asked about internships and research mobility, academic recognition, required documentation and practical preparations for studying abroad. The session also helped participants gain a better understanding of Circle U. and the range of opportunities available to students across the Alliance.
A milestone for Circle U.
Around 70 participants attended the event, marking an important milestone for the Circle U. ambassador community. By working together across nine universities, the ambassadors created a student-to-student space for discovering mobility opportunities, learning about partner institutions and connecting with the wider Circle U. community. More importantly, their first joint initiative demonstrated the potential of the ambassador network to connect students across borders and make Circle U. opportunities more visible, accessible and relevant to students throughout the Alliance.
