Increasingly, higher education institutions are emphasizing exchange and collaboration with local communities and civil society in order to research and address current global and societal challenges. This work, however, requires not only special commitment from researchers and students but also supportive university structures, facilitators and points of encounter between science and society.
This group aims to provide a space for Public Engagement professionals and similar roles who support transdisciplinary or participatory research and university collaboration with societal partners. By connecting expertise across Circle U. institutions, the community wants to share experiences, resources and address mutual challenges within the fields of Public and Community Engagement and participatory research. Join the Community of Practice to:
- share and develop joint knowledge resources and training
- develop cross-network projects and activities
- contribute to advancing recognition and rewards for Public Engagement
- explore funding options, find partners to apply for European funding
- develop public engagement and transdisciplinary methods in teaching
- broaden professional network and exchange for Public Engagement professionals
- share best practices in facilitating networks and outreach to local communities or non-university stakeholders
