From 2 to 3 July 2026, representatives from Circle U. took part in the European Universities Initiative: 2nd Research and Practice Symposium, hosted by WU Vienna University of Economics and Business in Vienna, Austria.

Master's student Adam from Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin attended the Circle U. summer school "How to do European History? Current Approaches and Controversies" and recommends it to fellow students.

This June, UCLouvain hosted two Circle U. summer schools in the same week: one exploring plain language, AI and democracy in Saint-Louis, the other empowering women entrepreneurs in Louvain-la-Neuve. A look back at two intense weeks, through the eyes of the students and teachers who took part.

In a continuation of the festivities kicked off in Vienna last November, Humboldt-Universität is now showing the anniversary poster exhibition. The opening provided a moment of appreciation for joint achievements – and of enthusiasm for the road ahead.

We are inviting proposals for a one-day symposium on leadership and governance of AI in higher education.

A new student mobility programme is on the horizon for master's students at UCLouvain and the University of Belgrade. This marks a new chapter for the two universities and for Circle U.

In May 2026, the Circle U. Student Union representatives gathered at the University of Belgrade to align CUSU with their current priorities, advance student representation, improve efficiency, and draft political stances and position papers for the alliance.

40 students attended the summer school "Democracy and Development in a Fragmenting World: Geopolitics, Power Shifts, and the Fate of the Liberal Order" in Belgrade, and explored pressing questions about the future of the liberal international order.

What does it actually take to improve lives and foster development? That was the central question at the heart of Learning Effective Approaches in Development (LEAD), a blended intensive programme hosted by the University of Oslo. Bringing together master’s students from across the Circle U. alliance, the course offered a week of rigorous academic engagement and collaborative learning focused on what works in international development, and why.

Marius Mjaaland has generated great enthusiasm among both Norwegian and international students. He is now being honored at the University of Oslo for his innovative teaching on the climate and nature crisis.
