New opportunities to learn teaching techniques with Circle U.

During the Louvain Learning Days in May, the Louvain Learning Lab of the Université Catholique de Louvain offers three free online training modules for professors and Circle U. members (two in French and one in English). The modules focus on feedback from students, problem-based learning and transferable skills.

The objective of these training sessions is to learn about pedagogical practices and to have discussions with peers about them. These topics are for teachers who are new or who would like to start using these techniques in their courses.

These are the training sessions:

Suggest a topic for Problem Based Learning. 11/05/22 - 13h30 - 15h (CET)

Problem-based learning (PBL) is a pedagogical approach that aims to make students learn based on a problem situation. This situation must be sufficiently contextualized, open and complex. However, it should allow conceptualization, focused on one or more learning objectives, and not too complex to be engaging at the same time.

Feedback from students. 13/05/22 - 11h - 13h (CET)

You are an academic, a lecturer, an assistant, a doctoral student and you wonder how students experience your course if they encounter learning difficulties. Taking feedback from students during the semester can help you. Come to this webinar to learn more!

Teaching to develop students’ transferable skills. 9/05/22 - 13h30 - 15h (CET)

Transferable skills such as creativity, interdisciplinarity, teamwork, etc. are increasingly in demand on the job market. In addition to disciplinary skills, it is therefore essential to train our students in these skills. During this workshop, we propose to look at some of these skills and see how they can be integrated into your course. These skills were developed within the InnovED4TS project.

Registration and waiting list

As for the previous trainings, the participants will be on a waiting list. They will receive an email confirming their participation once the registration is validated. Before that, their registration is not effective. If new people want to register, you should select "Circle U member" and not "other status" on the form. This will make it easier to follow up on the validation process.
